Georgian Railways Uses Formspider

Georgian Railways uses an application built with Formspider to manage documents for its railroad construction and maintenance projects.

The application is used to store, search and organize contract documents, design catalogs for existing and new lines and photos of site visits. The submission and approval workflows of these documents are also managed through the application.

Additionally, minutes for various meetings among railroad employees regarding tunnels, progress tracking and design are also stored and managed in the application. These meeting minutes can be associated with additional documents such as excel sheets.

Why did Akis choose Formspider over APEX?
The application is built by Akis Vlissidis from Greece. He built the previous version of the application with APEX but chose Formspider for its new version. Naturally, we asked him why he chose Formspider over Apex:

“It took me only two weeks to develop the application in Formspider compared to 2 months in APEX. So development is much faster.

The quality of the user experience is also higher in a Formspider application. For example, everything I build with Formspider works as a single page 100% AJAX application by default.

In Formspider, I can also have right-click menus in my application. This is something Apex is lacking. The first action every Windows user does in an application is to right click on everything. I cannot imagine a user friendly application without right-click menus.

Today, the application is in production and I don’t get any support calls from my customer. The system works like a charm. What’s more important is that the users were never trained to use the application. Formspider enabled me to deliver a very user friendly application that reduced the learning curve for my customers greatly.”

Akis is one of the best Formspider Developers. You’ll hear more from him on this blog. If you are looking for a Formspider Developer make sure to connect with him on LinkedIn.
